The Bentley Continental GT Limited Edition Doesn't Give A Damn About Subtlety

This limited-run version of Bentley's Continental GT celebrates the car's record-breaking Pikes Peak run

A Bentley is supposed to be classy. Restrained. Sophisticated. The Continental GT normally ticks all of these boxes, even with its huge mesh grille. But the Conti you see here is a little different from the norm.

It’s the Continental GT Limited Edition, built to celebrate a lightly prepped version of the car that nabbed the record for the fatest-ever production vehicle run up the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb.

Mechanically it’s the same as any other W12 Continental, with that unusual 6.0-litre 12-cylinder engine providing 626bhp to all four wheels. Instead, what Bentley has done to differentiate the Limited Edition is give it a whole raft of visual tweaks. Quite unsubtle visual tweaks.

It’s finished in the same Radium by Mulliner hue used on the record-breaking Continental, complemented by a carbonfibre body kit. To further mirror the car that belted up the 12.42-mile course in just over 10 minutes, the Limited Edition has a load of gloss black bits added to the bumper, the roof, the mirrors and parts of the rear.

Filling each wheel arch is a 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification wheel finished in gloss black, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Colour Edition tyres with stripes and Pirelli logos in Radium. Just in case the wheels weren’t already eye-catching enough, Bentley has painted the brake calipers that sit under them Acid Green. As an option, you can also have ‘100’ sprayed onto the grille in a nod to the company’s centenary year. You might as well, given how showy the rest of the car looks.

The cabin has a similar air of bombast to it, looking as though someone’s exploded an Alcantara bomb in there. Radium contrast stitching appears everywhere you look, and a there’s a Radium centre line on the steering wheel. Even the Bang & Olufsen speaker cones are finished in Radium.

The fascia shirks the more traditional wood veneer, instead presenting drivers with one huge slab of carbonfibre. On the passenger side of the carbonfibre piece is a graphic displaying a section of the Pikes Peak course. There’ll be five different designs used over the production run. And that’ll be a limited production run - Bentley will only build 15.

A price hasn’t been revealed, be we’re going to guess that it’s a number best described as ‘lots’.

Maybe it’s unsubtle and not the
usual trend of Bentley, it looks good to me. Plus, the Radium thing is awesome !

I don’t know how people keep saying this looks good. It’s kinda gross. May be I don’t really understand it.
