A3 8P 2.0 Tfsi Stage 1 vs 1.8 Tfsi stage 2

So I have had my A3 8P 1.8 tfsi with 23000 miles on the clock for the last 3 months and have had a Revo Stage 1 remap on it from the first week of ownership. The dyno figures showed 212bhp with a fair gain of torque across the rev band. A stage 2 which would need an updated Fmic, tbe and air intake would produce 245ish bhp. I have also been offered Swaps for a like for like A3 8P 2.0tfsi with 59000 miles on the clock. As you guys probably already know, this engine comes from factory with a power output of 197bhp advertised, and a stage 1 map from revo can be expected to return anywhere between 250-280 bhp. What would you recommend as the best route to follow? I know that ideally if I was truly power chasing the obvious move would be S3, but insurance is a limiter. Have any of you taken a 1.8 tfsi to stage 2?

240sx ftw

Hi Ash,
I’ve personally not experienced the 1.8 however my cousin has a mk5 GTI and its running the 283hp with the stage 2+ so I would say it’s worth it. It’s as quick as my stage 1 8p S3 (however that’s probably due to him having DSG)
