I know neutral drops are bad but if you were to launch it with your brakes is that still bad for the car?

I don’t think so. You always use the brake to launch in a manual w/ clutch and regular manual so it must be the same with an automatic.
Is the brake like an automatic clutch for the torque converter?
How exactly does one go about using the brake to launch a manual car?
I think it depends on the car. For instance, if you launched a 1st gen gallardo like 5 times you’d burn out the clutch, but in most other cars I think you would be fine.
I dont think so, it makes more sense if the accelerator were an automatic clutch for the torque converter because if the brake were you would have to hold the brake every time you try to take off
The brake is there to just hold the car in place and then to release the car for a launch
I like to launch with the gas pedal

No. just don’t neutral drop it. If you want to really launch get a converter with a decent stall.
The Hellcat for instance, with its tiny tires, launches best in 2nd gear- Motor Trend It really comes down to the drivetrain as a whole, I assume. So the rear diff.
Launching anything will put stress and wear on components. The safest and best way to launch an auto car is to put ur foot on the brake and put ur foot on the gas (loading up the torque converter), then release the brake.
Do you have a recommended RPM to get it to? (My car is a 2.3 i5 with a redline starting at 6,000)
