1.7 puma conversion

Anyone done the 1.7 swap into the 1.4 mk6 or know anything about it, I’ve heard it’s pretty easy to do and not particularly expensive so was thinking of having a go myself, any thoughts?

Cant think it would be to hard engin mounts wireing loom custom manafold if needed ecu replacement unless its aftermarket then just a remap. Iv been looking into it myself but for a mk5 fiesta the 1.7 puma is pritty much plug and play from what iv heared iv also been told its cheaper to buy a doner puma on the cheap abd use that as you get all the upgraded breaks clutch trans ects

First of all, are you doing it yourself? Or getting a company to do it? Because at home you need several things to do it (hoist, chains, stands, jack or 2) And a shop won’t do it for cheap because it takes some hours.
As far as the possibilities go for an mk6 and the engine, i don’t know.
A guy on here is doing the swap with his mk3 i believe.. Maybe he knows more.
The best answer to your question: Forums haha🙈

I know it’s quite simple for a mk6 and yeah I’m doing it myself I’ve done engine swaps before but only on evos but I can’t imagine its any harder than that

The 1.7 swap is easy and plug and play for a mk5. You drive a mk6, why not just swap in the 2.0 duratec? From the St? Dont know what you need for that… but… more power 😁

The difference in price is massive though, £100 for the 1.7 and about £400 for the 2.0
