Just How Good Is The New Turbocharged Ferrari 488 GTB?

The 488 GTB is the first turbocharged mid-engined Ferrari since the F40, but is that a good or bad thing? Chris Harris took one for a drive around Fiorano and the surrounding roads to find out

Remind me later

With turbocharging becoming ever more prevalent to keep horsepower up and emissions down, it seemed only a matter of time before forced induction made a return at Ferrari. Sure enough, the California is now turbo powered, but the one we’ve been most intrigued about is the 488, the 458 Italia’s replacement. It’s certainly powerful enough - at 660bhp it’s almost 100bhp more pokey than the outgoing car - but can it be a worthy successor for a high-revving N/A monster like the 458? Give the video above a watch and find out.
