Pixel Car Racer : Horse Power and How it doesn't matter as much as you think it does
Alright, alright, calm down don’t rush to the comments saying “wat u talk about my 2000 hp GT-R beets all”, Because while that might be true to an extent, this will just be a little #blogpost about how horsepower vs the car platform/engine itself are both just as important. I learned about this when I first got the game, I’m still yet to get any engine swaps so I can’t cover that, but I possibly will another time. So we’re leaving engine swaps out of the equation and talking about stock engines. Also later a post on drivetrain may come, but I’m not sure if they are an actual thing in the game or not yet so it all depends on that.
But anyways, here’s wonder wall.
Lame joke I know. So my first car I picked up after my lame starting car, was a Porsche 911 classic, due to it being my favorite car, it took me around 2 - 3 hours to get it to 1010ish HP, my second car was a Dodge Challenger, which I got to 1500 hp in 30 - 45 minutes. (Probably because I used old parts from the Porsche and was making money faster, but still it seemed a lot easier to tune.) and so when I started running 1/4 in the dodge I was getting 9.7s, but my Porsche, with 500 less horse power, was getting 8.9s, I was extremely confused so I did some dyno tests, it turned out that because of the way the HP and Torque were delivered, not only was I getting more WHP but I was just getting more out of the engine in general. This essentially proves that different cars have different engines, and some may be easier to tune and get up to HP, but others are far more harder and deliver power differently, another thing I noticed was the Challenger got off the line incredibly quick, but the power fell off half way and was left a sitting duck, but for the Porsche, it got a rough start for the first second or so but pulled right after that. So my conclusion was that different cars/engine formats do matter in PCR, and that high HP isn’t always everything.
Comment what type of stuff you guys would like to see next, I love testing things in games, and I’m thinking of doing a series on vintage race cars too.
(Also if you want to request I do a certain testing series in a certain game, the games I have are Forza 6, F1 2016, Project Cars, and I’ll be getting Horizon 3.)

wut like vintage car fact filles? maybe do a blog about gear tunning, in ur post can u state thats there text plz
I’ll definitely put that into consideration!
My car has +1800HP but below 2000HP and does 7.7s in a quarter mile. It’s all about tuning. Not horsepower.
Exactly, it is about tuning your car to perform best to its strengths.
I have a 2jz smart car 1700hp does 6.8s
You have a great point
