The street version of Alfa Romeo's Brera, although not as stunning as the show car, is still quite a looker. Alfa just rolled out the Brera "Italia Independant" special edition model, and even though they added bits here and there, they managed to do it with out hurting the overall looks of the car.

The "Italia Independant" (always with quotes, and no, I don't know why either) is being manufactured in a limited production run of just 900 copies. The "Italia Independant" will be offered for sale in Europe, Japan and Australia. The current prices for the German version start at €29,700 for the Brera model that comes with a 185HP 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine and goes up to €38,850 for the version with the 260HP 3.2-liter plant. The 3.2 liter model is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.

Alfa Romeo's special edition was created in association with the Italian fashion house "Italia Independent", hence the high level of attention paid to styling details throughout the car. Or, as our sources put it, "the limited run Brera coupe is about style."

The body features Titanium opaque paintwork and the same gorgeous shade is applied to the matching 18-inch alloy wheels with a handsome turbine pattern on the spokes. Another special exterior touch is the red colored brake calipers, and there's also an aluminum fuel cap that fits in nicely, but still ads a bit more flash.

On the inside, the 2+2 coupe's interior is slathered with lots of carbon fiber trim and very, very nice looking and black leather upholstery with contrasting red seams. Yes, you do have to be careful with the 'black with red lines' scheme, but "Italia Independant" and Alfa pulled it off quite well here.

There are also brushed aluminum "Italia Independent" logos to be found stylishly placed here and there, and brushed aluminum pedals and foot rest on the driver's side to finish off the special edition.

The Alfa Brera "Italia Independant" keeps all the niceties of the normal model like the standard equipment airbags, all seven of them, the automatic dual zone climate control system, cruise control, fog lights and the high-end audio system.

Now, if Alfa, working with their new partner Chrysler were to bring this car to America ...
