Pimpin' Posh's Car: A. Kahn Design Evoque RS250 Vesuvius Copper

The Range Rover Evoque is arguably the most sought after vehicle on the planet. Orders are flying in left, right and centre; the assembly line is in overdrive but the Halewood boys just can't make them quick enough. This is a tale of joy to RR's bank boys, but to the rich elite shelling out upwards of £30k to be seen in the latest must-have bling accessory, all is not necessarily rosy.

Let me back this up. Six weeks ago I drove a university friend from my flat in the centre of Huddersfield to his home at the foot of the Pennines. This journey takes in some beautiful scenery as well as a quaint village in which the north's rich congregate. I am not exaggerating when I say that I saw six Evoques in a 30 minute drive. SIX. It’s hard to brag to the Joneses when they've more than kept up.

So, like the indie scene of the motoring world, the Evoque is itching to squeeze into some new clothes and stand out from the crowd. This is where A. Kahn Design comes in. Victoria Beckham may have slaved away to bring the smart lines we've come to know and love, but Afzal Kahn and his crew have come along with the steroids. The RS250 Vesuvius oozes testosterone down its flared flanks and demands to be noticed.

With around 90% of Evoque buyers set to be younger, new to the brand and a great deal more ‘urban’, Kahn was determined to sit back and be patient with his latest work. Working within the factory lines, Kahn and his team spent ‘thousands of hours’ on the car to create something unique. The whole exterior has been touched up with a new front and rear bumper, boot spoiler, central exhaust, Kahn lowering module and LED running lights and privacy glass (for that final 'gangster' touch). The Evoque Vesuvius wears Kahn's RS600 alloy wheels. It’s actually testament to the buff exterior work that these 22-inch alloys don’t dwarf their surroundings. All this combines to give the Evoque an aggressive stance you didn’t even realise was missing.

Inside the Vesuvius are lashings of bespoke trim. Front and rear seats trimmed in black quilted and perforated leather with Alcantara inserts, a diamond quilted centre glove box and a Vesuvius sports steering wheel are touches that give a hint of elegance for a superior rudeboy feel. Don’t like the Vesuvius Copper paintwork? Kahn can paint your car (and any of the inserts inside, from the seats to the speedo) in literally any colour you can imagine. Your car could match your low-slung jeans, should it be your desire.

So it seems Afzal Kahn and our friends have worked their magic on the Land Rover brand once again. The question is, which of my organs am I going to sell in order to make this mine?
