Driver Gets Pulled Over Twice For Shoddy Lane Discipline In Ultimate Facepalm Moment
We'd just educated this gentleman about lane discipline and he does this right in front of us 😒#InOneEarOutTheOther #fined pic.twitter.com/RlkvTpQZvF

There really aren’t enough Picard facepalm Gifs in the world to appropriately react to this short but infuriating video. It shows a car coming back onto the motorway, having just been “educated” about lane discipline from Surrey Police, only to immediately ignore everything he’s just been told and pull right over to the outside lane of a completely empty stretch of carriageway. Was he listening? At all?
Judging by the hashtag used in the tweet about the driver was fined - needlessly hogging the middle and outside lanes of a motorway in the UK can leave you with an on-the-spot fine of £100, plus three penalty points on your license.
From 2018, learner drivers in the country will be allowed onto motorways for the first time, which will hopefully have an impact on the scourge of middle lane hoggers in the long run…

Guess you could say he really stepped out of LINE.
I’ll be going now.
unfunny
Well he indicated so he is not a BMW driver.
Wow, this is utterly brilliant. 🤣
Well that is an absolutely stellar illustration of how utterly ignorant most British drivers are. Sure, our driving standards are impeccable if you’re used to Paris or anywhere in Italy, but sometimes you just want to grab people by the ears, shake them hard and check they’re even awake.
Looool
Do they really not go on the motorways in UK driving school!?
Not on a motorway, but we were allowed on a dual carriageway. The only difference is that a motorway has a hard shoulder. Motorway rules apply to a dual carriage way (lane discipline, speed limit etc.). From 2018 learners will be allowed on the motorway; anything with 2 or more lanes and a hard shoulder.
