Coachbuilt HMC Hidalgo Debuts
Helvetic Motor Company - hmm, that name isn't one we've heard before. But since we like all things unique and coachbuilt, it is one we are going to cover. To say we have entered a new era of coachbuilding would not be an overstatement.

Modern technology has brought back the viability of custom bodywork, and in an era with luxury manufacturers producing more than ever before, it is a compelling proposition for some. Lets take a look at HMC's creation.
The basis vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG but you would never be able to tell. It shows the advanced level possible with today's methods, and all the potential possibilities there is for vehicles in the future.
The design is retro Bugatti Atlantic-type styling and they really pull off the look - it is done in a tasteful and purposeful way. As for a power, the power output form the SLK's 5.5-liter V8 remains at 355 horsepower and 376 pound feet of torque.
The HMC Hidalgo is a car for people who want exclusivity - and really exclusive, as HMC is planning on only 4 per year.
That is a figure that makes sense - at a price of $410,000, they probably won't have people beating down the door. We are glad to see the coachbuilding industry alive and well once again.
