Chris Harris Compares The FK8 Civic Type R To The Legendary EP3

The new Honda Civic Type R is the latest subject to be examined in Chris Harris Drives, where it's compared to the celebrated EP3

The EP3 is considered to be the high point of the Civic Type R lineage (ignoring the FD2 most of the world didn’t get), so it’s not at all surprising to see Chris Harris use it as a benchmark when driving the new version.

The conclusion? That with the new ‘FK8’, Honda is back to its best when it comes to hot hatch building. Not only that, but Harris also questions whether cars like the Ford Focus RS really need to be four-wheel drive.

It’s an incredible car that’s stupidly capable and very fun to drive. You just need to be able to live with the looks…

Here we are… At the time where a 4 door sedan, can be a hothatch. At the time where pre-riced cars, are considered as nice. The bodykit looks like the car has over 500hp and it has 280 at the wheels… Car aiming for young buyers, yet costing way to much. Would rather buy 1 year old BRZ, put an old garret turbo from VW diesel engine, bigger wheels and still had few K in my wallet left…

Now… compare the FD2R to the FK8R. Then I’ll be satisfied
