Lotus is planning on reentering the exotic car market and McLaren is planning an offensive against Ferrari and Lamborghini with a range of new models that begins with the MP4-12C. I love unique manufacturers like Morgan and Bristol that are still around as well. Now a name in British racing, Chevron, has a new comeback model in the works.

Since being formed in 1965 by Derek Bennet, it has produced racing cars. Since his death in 1978, it has been around, but not in producing a new line of racing cars. That is about to change as it plans to introduce the mid-engined GR8, successor the B8. The GR8 would be destined for a special Chevron-only series created by the company, called the GR8 Challenge.

The limited run of 20 GR8s will be powered a 255hp 2.0-liter Cosworth engine - overall the car weighs only 1,322 pounds, an extremely light figure. The price of entry is 49,500 euros (around $74,000 USD at current exchange rates).

The series will be in the United Kingdom at first, but there is potential for it to expand to other countries if there is enough interest. There are no plans for a roadcar though - this will be a track-only car, like the original.
