BREAKING NEWS: Test Drive Unlimited 3 has allegedly been leaked by a Reddit user!

YES! YOU READ THAT RIGHT! A French Reddit user has recently written a post in which he shared some interesting information regarding a new TDU game. Said information was allegedly sent to him by a group of friends who work for different French game developers, who also have friends who apparently work at Bigben and represent the source of the leak.

Naturally, i can’t guarantee whether the information is true or not, since Bigben Interactive has never mentioned TDU3 so far, so take all of the following info with a grain of salt. Anyway, let’s kick things off with some info regarding…

The Map

According to the leak TDU3 will feature, just like its predecessors, a rather exotic map, this time located somewhere in South America, but it isn’t known exactly where. The writer of the post speculates that the game might be set in Brazil, but there is no confirmation of that. It might end up being set in Chile or the Juan Fernández Islands, or anywhere else, maybe not even in South America. Only time will tell.

It is currently unclear whether O’ahu and Ibiza will carry over from the previous TDUs.

In regards to the map size, it seems that the developers are planning to make it slightly bigger than The Crew 2’s map.

Now let’s move on to…

The Cars

According to the leak, TDU3 will feature about 90 cars at lauch, including classic and modern cars, plus hybrid and even electric vehicles. I’m a bit skeptical about that number, but it’s still too early to complain.

The leak also mentions three possible starter cars:
•Renault Clio RS
•Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (doesn’t specify which one, i’d say either a VI, IX or X)
•Volkswagen Polo GTi

We still don’t know anything about car customization and tuning, but i assume it’ll be better than TDU1 and 2.

And now, let’s move on to…

The Gameplay

In terms of gameplay, TDU3 should be pretty much the same as its predecessors. The player will start off by choosing one of the previously mentioned starter cars, then he/she’ll be free of doing anything he/she wants

Houses will return, and TDU3 will feature more houses than TDU1 and 2 combined. It isn’t known, however, whether the houses will be explorable and/or customizable.

The physics system, according to the leak, will be the same as WRC8, although i personally think they’ll go for more of an arcade style, to keep it similar to its predecessors.

The graphics should be a big step up from WRC8, since KT Racing is apparently rebuilding parts of the KT Engine, the same one used by WRC8.

And finally, we’re moving on to…

The Multiplayer

As expected, multiplayer will play a huge role in the game. In fact, if the leak is true, the devs will mainly focus on multiplayer. Obviously, the singleplayer mode will receive updates, but the online mode will have more frequent and bigger updates.

The game will be developed by Kylotonn Games (a.k.a. KT Racing) and will be published by Bigben Interactive. As of now, it seems that the developers are aiming for a late 2020 release date, though i wouldn’t put my bets on that.

If the leak is true, the game will be available for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, although PS4 and Xbox One versions could be released as well. Unfortunately, as it is the case with WRC8, the PC version will likely be an Epic Store exclusive for a year, meaning you won’t be able to buy it anywhere else for a year.

This all seems great, but I’d prefer it if the map was in Chile. Not just because I’m from there but because it has pretty much every weather and biome there is, and having all of them on just one map would be pretty nice
