Hyundai Equus

Back in the nineties, Hyundai and Mitsubishi had a slightly odd alliance, where they shared models like this, which apart from the badge is a Mitsubishi Proudia. The Equus sold a lot better than the Proudia, perhaps because the car’s only real competition in South Korea was from the SsangYong Chairman H, and it’s a SsangYong. The car was available with a 4.5 litre Mitsubishi V8 producing 280PS, unless you’re in South Korea, where there isn’t very much premium unleaded available, so instead you get reliability issues, because for some reason the engine was built for a fuel that wasn’t readily available in the car’s main market.
