Car games we used to play as younger petrolheads #blogpost
Car games have evolved with the time, bringing really good results as The Crew or Forza Horizon 3, but, since these new games came out, i wanted to show some love for the big classics, so, let´s get right into it.
1- Cruis´n World
Released on November of 1996 for the Nintendo 64, it was a port from the arcade version of the game, released before it. I may not be talking for everyone here but this game made some really good times for me when i was very young. Specially because there was an arcade machine of it at the beach that we went every year for holidays, so it really has a special place for me.
2- Hot Wheels Turbo Racing
Released on May 11 of 1999 for the PlayStation1 and Nintendo 64, it was well accepted, leading to a port from it for the Psp (which was called Ultimate Racing). For Me, i didn´t play it in neither the PS or the Nintendo 64, i played in an emulator on my dad´s PC, and that gave me those great summer days trying to get all the secrets, cars and tracks, which the game has a lot of them i may add.
3- Need For Speed Most Wanted
This couldn´t fit better in here, we all have played this glorious game that released in November of 2005 and that made us all fall in love with the BMW M3 GTR and the car customization. To date this game is still worthy to play trough and to get all the extras or get the game to 100%, specially since the challenge series adds a lot of gameplay to the game
4- Diddy Kong Racing
This game has been loved by many since it´s release on November of 1997, it had a lot of variety if we talk about the maps, cars and characters. The races weren´t boring at all since it had objects added that keeped the player asking for more racing like it.
5- Top Gear
The game that started it all, released on March of 1992 for the SNES it offered us a simultaneous 2 player racing platform and it was challenging and fun at the same time, and that´s why it gains its place on the list
6- Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition
This gem of a game that was released on 11 of April of 2005 was a total blockbuster in videogame form.
With very great customization, car variety, maps, races and music, Rockstar Games nailed it with the third release of the saga
7- Fast And Furious Tokyo Drift
Released on September 26 of 2006 for the PS2 and on April 24 of 2007 for the PSP, this game gave us both the high speed of the japanese wangan and the amazing experience of the touge battles. In this game you have two main tuning roads, Speed tune, or Drift tune, so it added a lot of variety to the game, i may add, i had a lot of fun playing this game when i was 5 years old on my PSP, so that´s a point to add.
8- Need For Speed II
Released in 1997 for the PC and PlayStation, this game made it to the records for Electronic Arts, being one of the most loved classics of all time, i didn´t play it originally until i had it on emulator on the PC, and just with playing it there, i bet someone had many fun days and nights playing this game.
