German car guys just translate the word „valve“ so in the end we call it Blow-off-Ventil

You can put as many nouns as you want into one word, like Heizölrückstoßabdämpfung which means, literally translated, heating oil repeal damping

I had a German speaking assessment last week and the words for “to sightsee” are “Sehenswürdigkeiten besightigen”. Why use 10 letters when 30 will do?

It’s obviously not funny when you already are used to these words. And I posted it in Ask Car Throttle because I wanted to hear your opinions.

‘Zylinderkopfdichtung’ was my favorite xD . That’s why I like German. You learn the basic words and then you understand every compound word they give you!

Exactly! Zylinder (Cylinder, easy) + Kopf (Head) + Dichtung (Seal) = Zylinderkopfdichtung
