JDM Hot Hatches from the 90's

Toyota Starlet Glanza V

The Starlet Glanza V had a 16 Valve 1.3i Turbocharged motor producing 133bhp to the front wheels. It only weighed 950kg which meant it could do 0 - 60mph in 8.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 130mph. (not too shabby for a 1.3i motor)

Mazda Lantis 1.8i DOHC Type S

Powered by a naturally aspirated 1.8i DOHC motor producing 133bhp to the front wheels via a 5 speed gearbox. It will go from 0 - 60 in 8.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 127mph. (Very closely matched to the Starlet)

Nissan Pulsar Gti-R

This AWD monster is powered by a DOHC 2.0i Turbocharged motor producing 217bhp through a 5 speed gearbox. It will go from 0 - 62mph in a staggering 6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 138mph. (It also looks menacing with that hood intake)

Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg RS

Powered by a DOHC 1.6i Mivec engine, producing 173bhp to the front wheels through a 5 speed gearbox and only weighing 1010kg. It will go from 0 - 60 in 6.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 143mph. (Specs are very similar to that of a DC2 Type R)

Honda Civic Type R EK9

And of course the hot hatch hero of Japan the legendary EK9 Type R. Weighing in at 1070kg and under the hood sits a B16b DOHC 1.6i VTEC motor producing 182bhp at 8 200RPM :) :) and going from 0 - 60mph in 6.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 142mph. (Everytime you hit 6100rpm, you will get shivers down your spine)
