I got some idling issue on my car. It says on the manual it should go 700-800 rpm, but when you turn lights on and idle. It can go as low as 600-500 rpm and and might go lower or higher randomly. My car is Perodua Myvi a.k.a Daihatsu Sirion.

Our landrover had a similar problem and it turns out it was the gearbox!

Was your rover gearbox ran smooth before the fix?

It was the talk converter, but on your car it could also be the fuel injection/carburettor(if it has one) or a leack in the exhaust manifold+hope u find the problem, good luck!

I dont think sensor is the culprit. When idle without lights on, it’s fine.

Can be as easy as an rubber vacuum line being not vacuum any more. Or could be as hard as your ecu is toasted. And almost everything in between. You can always try vacuum limes since they are cheap

Update:
I’ll try check the injector and clean the throttle body. Vacuum leak and idle actuator valve are going to be checked later if the first haven’t fix it.

Update:
I cleaned all i can on the throttle body and it’s fixed. No more idle rpm reduced when I turn my lights on. Funny thing is it still can drop if it is inclined front higher, but only till 600 rpm which is normal according to the manual. Thanks for helping me diagnose the problem.

glad you got it fixed. seems maybe it was an inability to compensate for extra load (alternator) by raising rpms? i had a similar problem on a truck recently, we thought iacv, was fuel pump
