THESE ARE THE ENGINES THE NEW SUPRA WILL PACK!

For starters, there’s a “20i” designation, for the entry level Supra.
It packs a B48d engine which is a 2.0i4 Turbo engine.

In the “mid-end” Supra, we have the “30i” designation.
It packs the same B48d(B46d in the USA) which is also a 2.0 inline 4 Turbo engine

As the top of the range engine, there’s the BMW B58C engine which is a 3.0l inline 6 Turbo engine!

Awesome! The 382HP one will be tasty af.
But I’m guessing that will be the USA spec, since the USA Z4 has 382HP.

Excuse me, WTF… I thought the four cylinder version was a joke.

I’m assuming this thing will weigh over 3,000 pounds and only 181HP, 214lb/ft of torque in the entry level model? I don’t see why people will be paying a premium for the Supra rather than a comparable GT86. I guess the Supra is becoming smaller in size, so the four cylinder may work out? I don’t know.

Now, if we’re talking about the engine with 382HP, that’s more like it, though it’s not that big of an upgrade (not like anyone cares). Yeah, power isn’t everything, but there are high powered cars that are fast around turns, too. Never understood why Toyota didn’t make the RC-F the new Supra. It’s much easier to have a six cylinder base version and an eight cylinder/twin turbo six as an upgrade.

Is it me or they want a 4 cylinder variant to pay homage for the old celica supra

I doubt it will have the 2.0i4 Turbo with 181hp. Even the lowest configuration possible on the Supra MK4 had 225hp…

There’s a cheaper base model so people can do 2JZ swaps if they want.

They made the 4 banger for swaps as well do car guys can put on 2js and LS engines instead

There is no B48D, it’s B48B, B for Benzin, or petrol.

Why didn’t you get informed before talking? Maybe it would’ve been a great idea 😉

Nice,now we’ll wait for market demands to opt a manual for left hand drive markets,the right hand drive such as japan is getting a 6 speed manual,also they already develop the transmission,and already have a hardware of it,the only thing is the cost,now if market feedbacks are more on the manual well expect a 6 speed manual option for the car,4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder turbo

Also nice they use a b58,must be a tunable engine
