For a mere $700,000 advance payment and £25,339 per month thereafter, you could enjoy looking out of the window at one of the world’s most exciting supercars. It comes clad in carbonfibre and throws 752bhp at the rear wheels - enough to make you think twice about squeezing that throttle too hard. This is one of only 100 Roadsters built, at an outright purchase cost of $2.4 million.
To save you doing the maths, the 60 monthly payments plus the deposit reach a total of over $2.2 million, so private individuals might as well just buy the damned thing. Businesses could extract a few tax benefits, though, if they were clever about it. The lease deal also includes a clause that the lessee nets any appreciation in the car’s value over that five-year period.
Given the way prices of these things are shooting up, paying the $25,000 a month to Putnam Leasing could easily equate to a final reward of hundreds of thousands of dollars more than the overall outlay, especially if the car just ends up parked in a garage the whole time.
