Z32 Brake Caliper Guide

Z32s came with 3 different caliper types during their run. They measure either either 26mm or 30mm, and are made of either aluminum or iron. The measurements refer to the width of the rotor, although the rotor diameter was the same between the two.

26mm Aluminum Caliper
1990 NA Z32s were the only ones to come with the 26mm brake setup
The rotors measure 280mmx26mm

30mm Aluminum Caliper
1990-92.5 turbo models and 91-92.5 came with the 30mm aluminum calipers
The rotors measure 280mmx30mm

30mm Iron Caliper
All 300zx 92.5-96 came with the iron 30mm calipers.
The rotors measure 280x30mm


Telling the difference
The easiest way is to use a micrometer to measure the with of the rotor to see whether it’s 26mm or 30mm. To determine whether it’s an aluminum or iron caliper, just test with a magnet.
