Help me with carburetors. I know nothing about them.

Hi.
I have a problem. I don’t know nothing about carburetors, but i have project car with one.
Problem is - I have Gaz 24 (1974) and carburetor is bad. I could rebuild it, but i also have engine from 1.8 Opel Omega (1989) with carburetor on it. Both 4 cylinder engines with 90 hp. Is there any way to know if it fits on my gaz? I don’t want to take it off, because engine on my Opel is fully working. Also there is not much information about these cars. I know that good replacment for Gaz carburetor is from an BMW E30, but i don’t have one. And as i said before -I don’t know nothing about carburetors!
