Volvo 245 Transfer - For when a normal 245 isn't big enough
#Blogpost

The Volvo 245 Transfer was a special edition of the Volvo 200-serie produced from 1977 until 1981.
As you can probably see the Transfer is quite a bit longer than the normal 245. The Transfer is 73 centimetres longer than the already pretty big 245, giving the car an impressive length of 561 centimetres, making the car 22cm longer than a Rolls Royce Ghost and exactly the same length as a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead. The car also has a third row of seats.

All Transfers started off as normal ordinary 245 Estate. After they were build some of them were transported to the factory in Kalmar where they were lengthened by 73 centimetres.

The 245 Transfer was very popular by hospitals, because the car formed a perfect base for a ambulance. Because of this most of the Transfers have either been changed into an ambulance and sometimes a fire truck. Quite a few of them ended up as a family car as well though, since the car is so safe and reliable they were perfect for families with a lot of children. The only downsides being the fuel economy and it’s size could be quite inconvenient at times.

Because the car was lengthened so much they had to strengthen the chassis a lot. Optionally you could get a roof rack which also strengthened the car a lot.

The car was available with the exact same engines as the normal 245, making the car quite a bit slower because of the increased weight.

That’s all for now

Have a nice day! :D

I need it, though I’d want a diesel because I think it needs the torque
