Look at how clogged the K&N cone was, not ideal at all.
I’ll be running a datalog this evening to see how much colder my intake temps are with the cowl setup in place.
It’s so loud now, had it set up running into the cowl before, but with standard airbox. This Ebay special carbon enclosed one is so much louder, it’s crazy!

Haha, it honestly sounds like it’s routed inside the car, it’s so loud on wide open throttle haha.

Haha yeah, I laughed at the end of that video, first to third gear pull, overtook three cars and the car is just so loud I just couldn’t stop laughing.
Yessss. You don’t see enough Randall intakes around. Since I deleted the AC and left the holes in firewall open, intake noise is even better.
Yeah I’ve got those holes at the moment from the MAP line and other wires for my ECU install. Finally removed the two A/C pipe stubs sticking out there that I’d cut down when I removed mine. Carbon Monoxide poisoning for me if my manifold starts blowing haha.
This is the best intake for an N/A MX-5 imo (other than ITBs of course), keeps the Helmholtz Resonator in the midpipe, and proven to be the best area for high pressure cold air.
The noise is outrageous too.
