Help! brake backplate is rubbing against the disc, i need to just pull it away from the disc or i need to take it to the mechanic?

today the car went to the mechanic to fix a loose front shock absorber. And when my dad arrived, i noticed a grinding sound coming from the wheel (my dad listen music while he drives and he said the sound muted itself after a while)
From what i had read before, this is a simple fix because just need to pull the brake backplate away from the disc, but… sometimes things can be more complex than just a 5 minutes fix.

so i need your advice
I just need to pull it away from the disc or better take it to our mechanic?

thanks in advance

Just take it right out it does not give much benifit being there in the first place it barely helps keep road grime off of some components which it is supposed to do

It's N8 M8

You can just bend it out of the way. If it gives you continues to give you problems then you can just pull it off
