First car struggle #3 Citroën C2 VTS/VTR
It’s time for the 3rd installment of my new series. This time we’ll visit France, considering two of the least appreciated warm hatches in history: the 2007 Citroën C2 VTS and the C2 VTR
The VTS is powered by a 1.6L inline-4 capable of 122hp paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the VTR uses the same engine but with 110hp. The best part about the VTR is the gearbox: it’s a 5-speed sequential automatic transmission, like the infamous CambioCorsa from early-2000s Maseratis
Mods
This time the mod list will be a bit longer that the Swift’s (the mods are the same between the VTR and the VTS):
1) LPG implant because I’m broke
2) OZ Superturismo WRC rims
3) A different front grille, like the one in the photos
Costs and conclusions
The lowest buying price that I found for a C2 VTS in decent conditions is around 2500€ (2262£/2961USD). To that price, 594.95€ (538.39£/704.56USD) should be added for the change of ownership for a used car, and finally, 232.20€ of yearly taxes (210.12£/274.98USD) and well over 300€ (271.48£/355.27USD) of insurance, while the C2 VTR is around 2900€ (2624£/3434USD), to which you should add 555€ (502£/657USD) for the change of ownership and around 220€ (199£/261USD) of yearly tax, with the insurance staying roughly the same. The full cost of the mods should be around 1100€ (995.42£/1302.66USD), with the parts being definitely a bit harder to find when compared to the Panda. The biggest problem that made me think twice about including the VTR is the dubious reliability of the “SensoDrive” automatic gearbox, but the fact that I could have a flappy paddle gearbox in an econobox is too cool not to consider
Time now to give these two cars a vote from 0 to 100 (please, differentiate your vote for the VTS to the VTR’s one)
The Swift achieved an average vote of 68.75/100, so for now it’s second behind the 90/100 of the Panda 100hp
Thank you for those who voted before and thank you for voting now! Have a good day/night/whatever!
Comments
78/100
Per la VTS, per la VTR o per entrambe?
You have to pay to change the ownership? Wow…
I’d say a 85/100 for VTS and 65/100 for VTR.
The VTR is just too underpowered, imo.
I really like the rims. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a C2 VTS/VTR without those rims.
I’ve never seen a C2 VTR/VTS ever irl
