If you’re thinking this WRX STI must have been in quite a state by the end of the run, you’d be right. Road and Track has a few aftermath pictures, and while the Subaru was apparently driveable, it ended up particularly battered. But then it wasn’t really designed to blast down a bobsled run.

If the name of the driver - Mark Higgins - sounds familiar, it’ll probably be because that’s the chap who currently holds the Isle of Man TT lap record for cars. The rally and stunt driver has had various record-breaking over the years involving Subarus, and it’s fair to say he’s a rather handy helmsman. And on this evidence, a pretty damn brave one too.
