Now's Your Chance To Own Arguably Britain's Most Famous Honda Integra DC5 Type R

All petrolheads know that front-wheel drive equals wrong-wheel drive, but the Honda Integra Type R might be the one car that really turns that notion on its head.

The DC2 Integra was introduced in 1995 to critical acclaim. By 2002 there was a new kid on the block, the updated DC5 (known as Acura RSX in America). As standard, this car packed a 217bhp, 2.0-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC engine, and became a firm favourite in the modding scene, spawning examples like the one for sale here.

This particular DC5 is very well known in the British modified car scene, and was featured in our most-viewed Readers’ Rides film to date. The list of modifications is long, featuring extensive performance and aesthetic improvements.

Under the bonnet, the OEM intake has been modified for better airflow, with a Do Luck air filter and DC Sports manifold added. This ‘Teg also has a Japspeed aluminium race radiator, Exedy Stage 1 clutch and a new gearbox. There are also Tein lowering springs and a Spoon upper strut brace.

The exhaust is a Mugen Twin Loop number, while the white 17-inch Lenso D1R wheels work brilliantly with the blue paintjob. Behind the wheels sit the standard four-pot Brembo discs and pads.

Subtle exterior modifications include Stuke winglets, clear side repeaters, washer jets from a Honda Jazz and uprated HID headlights. Inside, the standard blue Recaro seats remain, while the gear knob has been a replaced with an HKS part.

Overall the car is in great condition, and has been modified with restraint to make it one of the cleanest DC5s you’re likely to find. It’s up for sale now at £8000, so if you like what you see, it could be yours.
