Lexus CT 200h Pricing Information Leaks a Day Early

The last we heard from Lexus about the CT 200h was early in the month when the brand set a goal of just 12,000 sales per year. This comes off the heels of the flop of the HS 250h hybrid.

The last we heard from Lexus about the CT 200h was early in the month when the brand set a goal of just 12,000 sales per year. This comes off the heels of the flop of the HS 250h hybrid.

That car was expected by Lexus to sell in the 20-25,000 range, while attracting a younger audience. That didn't work quite as well as planned and the CT 200h is another try at it, this time marketed with a "performance" slant.

To have hope of hitting that (admittedly very conservative) goal, the price has to be set low. Thanks to The Lexus Enthusiast the information has come out, and a day earlier than Lexus had planned.

As expected the CT 200h has been priced aggressively, coming in under the crucial (for advertising) $30,000 mark - $29,120 USD ($29,995 after delivery charges) to be exact. This makes the CT 200h the cheapest Lexus on the market, coming in at $4,695 below the IS 250 and $6,480 below the HS 250h.

That base price include standard equipment such as Safety Connect, XM Satellite Radio, USB connector for iPod/MP3 players and Bluetooth streaming audio.

The Premium grade CT 200h brings you up to $30,900 ($31,775 after delivery) and gains a moonroof & heated seats. The CT 200h could have been an appealing package if it ditched the hybrid drivetrain and was styled in the vein of the IS like some renderings we've seen. Oh, the missed opportunities.

Lexus will offer an array of customization options with F Sport options and interchangeable dashboard trim with available genuine bamboo, genuine ash burl or metallic finishes. Head over to The Lexus Enthusiast for the full rundown of options.
