If Someone Made This Futuristic Rat Rod We'd Be Front Of The Queue
When normal car guys have a debate, all that happens is voices get raised and nothing is achieved by either party. If you're designers Pawel Wisniewski and Jans Slapins, however, the arguments result in some epic 3D renderings.
After watching a Lambo take on a classic rat rod, the pair debated what was coolest about each car. With Pawel picking up a pencil and paper and sketching away, Jans got on his computer and turned his designs into the beautiful models you see here.
Taking design inspiration from F1 cars, the Plymouth Cuda and a 1960s refrigerator, the pair set about making this awesome rat rod as realistic as possible, integrating some seriously high-tech kit. If this was built in real life, it would get pushrod actuated suspension and a hydraulic drive system that takes up less space and weighed less than the traditional kit, allowing four passengers to fit inside.
Further weight saving would come in the form of a carbonfibre chassis that helps drop the centre of gravity in conjunction with the low-mounted twin-turbo V8, which is connected to a sequential six-speed transmission. All this amounts to near-50/50 weight distribution that suggests any Lambo would be given a run for its money through the corners as well as the straight and narrow.
Now we just need someone to make this thing a reality...
