Car Guys Rejoice: When Petrol Cars Die Out We'll All Be Too Old To Drive Anyway
A report by Shell suggests that by 2070 fossil-fueled cars will have all died out
We're constantly told the end of the petrol car is nigh, and that powering our internal combustion engines with that sweet elixir will soon be a thing of the past. A recent report from Dutch petrochemical giant Shell says as much, but it suggests that time won't come until 2070...
The report also says that fossil fuel usage hasn't yet peaked; that's expected to happen around 2035. After that, it'll decline while the use of hydrogen fuel cells become more prevalent.
So, to sum up, when petrol cars are a thing of the past, most of us will be too old to drive anyway...
