So this picture resurfaced again on one of my gaming community pages comment section and there were some things said that I just don't get.

The idea is they want this to be the next map for the grand Theft Auto series. The updated map adds GTA Vs Los Santos into the San Andreas map while updating San Fierro, Las venturas, the Countryside and the LV badlands. From there if you go East you hit Vice City and North of that is GTA IVs Liberty City.

While people were hugely in favour of this saying “Yes” - “Make this happen” - “Spam Rockstar with this image til they take the hint.” some people were against it and they all had the same argument. It’s too big.

I’m sorry what? It is something I heard said about San Andreas too. “Too much time spent driving” Well pardon me but isn’t that really meant to be the point of this game? Yes you dabble with crime, shootouts and the American Dream but 90% of your time is meant to be spent driving. The game is named from the offence of stealing a car.

If you ask me. The bigger, the better. Fuel. The Crew. Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2. I’m looking at you guys. The online road trips are therapeutic and relaxing and the scenery in these games are great. When you’re stuck in the house because your car is off the road or it just isn’t the right weather for a lovely drive out a big map like this is what you want from a video game.

But they really need to make a huge car selection too. last thing you want is to drive coast-to-coast and only see the exact same Stratum, Buccaneers, Gauntlets, etc over and over.

I’d say just have a check point on the free ways to each city, when you reach that check point, it’ll go to a loading screen and load the next map.

It will be nice if it “can happen” in next GTA VI or VII. But look at how detailed GTA V map is, if you add all these maps with the amount of stuff and quality, I think lower to mid end system will have big troubles. Yeah, new hardware(more efficient and cheaper) will or may come in the near future. But I have friends with sort of good systems that have problems running GTA V on low settings. I’m not saying powerfull systems will not run it, but for the people who can’t afford anything fancy it will be big problem.[ I’m Sorry if my English is not good :C ]

Your English is better than most English people man. But I totally agree. To run this and for the developer to make every inch of this map detailed and not just copy and paste segments like a lot of large maps will take a lot of time. Effort. resources and the computing power needed to run this would need to be massive. For consoles especially they would need a huge amount of hard drive space installed. The 1TB XBOX One wouldn’t even be enough.

GTA doesn’t work like that. In GTA the game only loads the the map and buildings within a certain radius of the player. It’s not like the whole map is available at all times. That’s why you can play GTA on a lot of systems. What really kills a system is the huge amount of details (i.e. cars, peds, random interactions between them etc.). Sure, your dad’s 286 won’t do the work but you don’t need a NASA computer either! So this huge map wouldn’t be such a huge problem.

I dont know what they call good systems, but I can run it on high, with GTX 650 MSI 1GB and AMD FX 8350, so that is no fancy hardware, under 500 euro’s

Why I play gta? just for driving each car, checking all the map, drifting around, having some fun…Yeah. I could live with that

and hopefully go at realistic speeds. I heard the fastest jet only tops out at 140mph.

This would be one hell of a feat, but not impossible. But to make this work they have to make the map feel as big as it is. I’ve seen people worry about the fact that there will be too much driving, and that there would be too much empty space. Personally I have no issues with this, but Rockstar have to make driving more engaging than it was in GTA V, where it was way too easy for my taste. Also, there needs to be empty space, like a big patch of desert with nothing in it, or a big forest with no cars, people or roads. I think this won’t make the map boring, more to the contrary because it adds more diversity by contrasting the crowded cities.

I agree. the driving in V was too simplified. Could we get a hybrid between the physics of IV and V then that would be great.

I’ve said this before, I’m perfectly fine with the size of the map in V, it doesn’t need to be bigger, its already huge!
The only thing i would change about it is that i want to enter all the buildings, and I wouldn’t mind a mall too like in vice city. I want the environment to be richer, not just bigger. This is what I think anyway.

what wouldve been awesome is if they made that mall thats already in GTA V into an actual mall with all the stores you can go to in GTA Online in one place

Unfortunately I think most people would rather be shooting hookers with a firework launcher than driving
