My Batavus Weekend from 2008, a bicycle I use all day every day to go to school and work and to get home.
As a dutchie, we have a lot of cyclepaths, so if you are younger then 16 and don’t want to take the bus, the bicycle is the only way!
So really short history, my dad bought this bike new in 2008 and he gave it to me 3 years after that and bought himself a new one, right now I’m 16,5 so I start my driving lessons, but I’m ‘forced’ to take the bike till I’m 18.
What I said I use this bike everyday and put around the 120km in one week, sometimes more sometimes less. (And sometimes 50km in one day if I’m cycling to Amsterdam)
So the upgrades: - new saddle - new lock + chain - new key (other one broke) - replaced battery backlight - new front light - new steering, stainless steel - 2 backtires, smaller and thicker to protect from glass - 1 fromt tire, also smaller and thicker - new ‘speedo’/ bicycle computer - new handles - new bell - 1 replaced gear disk - 1 brake disk front And some duct tape to hold some lose plastic together
Thanks for reading and hopefully I can drive a car soon!
Oh my god it’s the one with the optional orange accents pack?
Yup, it had also a orange tint on the handles but those were worn out, so I have grey handles
