Are brightly coloured (white, yellow) cars cheaper on insurance compared to dark coloured cars (black, dark blue) because they are easier to spot?
Someone told me this and I’m curious about whether it is true or not. Theoretically, it sort of makes sense since a white car would be easier to see at night than a black car. But is it true?

No insurance companies don’t even ask you what colour the car is and although they could find out from the cars reg they will also give you a quote with just the make and model
sorry it’s off topic but if you buy a black car be prepared for a bucket of annoyances. It always looks dirty and EVERY scratch shows. So basically even if it’s not for insurance light colors often easier to care for at least.
White is usually cheaper so I guess if sticker price comes up in insurance it could get you there. Other than a brand spanking new car I can’t think of any reason it would help you. This is coming from someone who’s on his second white car…
it all seems to be statistics. My 1996 V8 mustang convertible is 30 dollars a month cheaper to insure than my previous 2001 dodge stratus sedan with a 4 cylinder. If you want to know everything, call your insurance agent
