Nardi wheel advice

I have a wooden Nardi steering wheel on my NA V-spec, that needs refurbishment,

I can sand the wheel down and re-varnish it,
But does anyone have an idea how to re-do the black stripe easily?
I don’t think my painting skills are up to doing it freehand.

The other plan is to change the wheel for the same one I had in my last car, as the wooden one is a bit to big to get my leg under comfortably,

But I am not sure if the wheel will look Ok with the tan interior

What are your recommendations / Genius ideas?

I can! I’ve actually owned both the wooden one in a V Spec and leather nardis.

When I had the wood wheel my lacquer also chipped, although the black stripe actually goes through the wood, it’s not painted on! So you should be able to sand it down without removing the stripe. Start with low grade paper - below P100 - and work your way up, then varnish it!
