A good exhaust pipe size for 318is?

I was checking the exhaust system of my e30 and realized the piping seems a bit too big for the car (looks almost like a 3 inch pipe). I’m going to be taking it to a shop soon, so I was wondering if I should just make it stock size or if there’s a good middle ground size for this car. Thanks.
