It’s because of the trams I think… no centre turning Lane. It actually works well once you get the hang of it
How does that even make sence?!
Yeah crazy huh… if youre turning right (driving on the left side of the road remember) you queue in the left lane. You wait for the light to turn yellow or red so that you arent turning into traffic coming through the intersection then turn right. It’s because of the trams in the middle of the road, and I imagine you are even more confused now 😂😂
Wait what im confused?
So, a right turn from the left lane in a RHD country, held in the middle of an intersection with its own traffic light….
Hmmm, I think I see it, so, there are only 2 lanes because of the trams, you can’t have a dedicated lane to the right for the turn, you also do t want to impede cars going foward by a car waiting to get to the right I’m the foward lane, so, you move said lane to the middle of the intersection, and because of some traffic light magic it’s all perfectly timed to allow the cars to leave the middle of the intersection…
Gosh darn ahaha this confuses me x) Goes up there with a road that i usually drive on since it is diagonal and curved when you reach the intersection, where the opposite road is parallel! Making a left turn there is odd since the curb is pointed hence if you get too close, it would make one’s wheel alignment quite interesting! Also my uncle lives in Melbourne ahaha :)
