What disc brakes from other cars are compatible with the old beetles?
I want to do a disc brake conversion on my beetle on a budget, so I would like to know what setup will work on the beetle that I can get of another car? With minor adjustments ?

http://www.mofoco.com/item/VW_SUPER_BEETLE_FRONT_AXLE_DISC_BRAKE_CONVERSION_KIT/1187/c138 , Theres many conversion kits out there just make sure it fits your lug pattern. If it fits your lug pattern your good, just make few adjustmemts to the calipers.
You see disc brake conversion kits are very expensive… what i want to do is say go to a junk yard and pull off a whole disc brake setup from a car… say a cut golf or something… my problem is i don’t know which cars will be compatible as the donor …
Well you can’t really do that on a budget. I’d just keep the drums. The drums actually work better than discs.
My budget for the brakes are $380 USD. I just fixed the brake drums, but it just isn’t up to par…And i am planning on putting a different engine in…
BUGATTI VEYRON BREAKS (jk)
Later vw bus brakes will work but you have to do the suspension and hubs.. You can also use porsche 914 brakes.. Which were discs, and should be easy to find in a salvage yard.. The last years of the mexican vw’s were all disk brakes.. Otherwise willwood makes some redonkulously expensive after markets
Thanks that is actually some really good advice…Porsche 914… I will start my junkyard hunt
