Spanish Car Culture in the 00s

Peugeot 206 Tuning.

Yep, this thing is real.
Yep, this thing is real.

I don’t know where to post this, but it’s european so…

In the 00s in Spain, the tuning was the car culture of the moment, like in other parts of the world, big wings, massive body kits and huge wheels were the deal to be the king of Tuning then. The cars used were average cars, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault… but big brands like BMW or Mercedes too. Also Japanese brands.

At that moment, this type of modifications aren’t RICE, like nowadays. Put the car like that then, costed a huge amount of money. Is not a secret, people spent more than 30.000€ (yes, more) to get a car that looked like that. I will show you more examples.

Have a car like that was the big deal in Car Meets.

And you will think: Okey, Peugeot 206, Honda Civic… etc, yes, the average cars that I said before.

But now, look at THIS:

THIS IS NOT A JOKE. This is a BMW 850i.

This car was up for sale, months ago for 7.500€. THE BMW 8 SERIES WAS MORE THAN 90.000$ BRAND NEW THEN. Plus the tuning body kit and the interior, that was 30.000€ (said from the owner)

I will let you see more examples, I know that in every part of the world have a Ricer car was trend back in those years, but in Spain, was bigger. National events, car meets with thousands of people…

Now many of these cars that back in the time were “pieces of art”, are up for sale for not more than 5.000€, but anyone wants.

Obviously, I’m not proud of this, but I’d want to share some car anecdotes of my country.
Thanks for your patience, you can comment your opinion! Sorry if there are mistakes in the text, is not my natural language. I wish you enjoyed!
