Stage 1

So I’m looking at getting a stage 1 apr tune for my 2016 VW GTI and I’m curious if doing a stage 1 would introduce any mechanical risks to the engine or turbo because apr claims it adds a considerable amount of horsepower but no engine modifications. From what I understand it’s just a ecu tune.
