Shopping for a Trans Am- Which trans should I go for

I’m on the hunt for an LS1 trans am as a fun weekend/racecar. I’ve always like them (especially the WS6), and I’ve been looking around. I love the idea of a 6 speed, and almost all my other cars are manual, but the price is significantly higher. What are your recommendations for a transmission? Is the manual trans really worth the extra cash or should I just go with the auto?
