Five 0-60 Heroes To Buy Now
In our world, a five-second dash from 0-60mph is seriously quick. From freedom to a jail cell in about the time it takes to find your car keys in the first place.
All of these cars offer slightly different takes on going fast and all of them provide base-level childish thrills. They’re the kind of cars that make you laugh inside, and to hell with the consequences. Well, until you get a letter from the magistrate.
They’re also at the bottom of their depreciation curve - so it’s unlikely they’ll be this cheap again.
Here are our favourite five-second frighteners to buy for less than £15k…
t’s difficult to think of a car that will get you places much quicker than an Evo. With the MR not only will you get 340bhp from its 2.0-litre turbo’d four, but you’ll also get BBS wheels, a six-speed ‘box, Bilsten dampers, LSD, an aluminium roof and an array of engine tweaks. You’ll hit 60mph in four-and-a-half seconds and top out at 157mph - it feasts on supercars.

This Maser’s a voluptuously styled delight with an interior that’s better appointed than most people’s homes. With its 332ft lb of torque coming in at a heady 4500rpm, wind one of these up on a flowing A-road and you’ll never want to get out.
