Driving in 5th gear normal at 30mph+? 🚗
Just wondered if anyone else was driving in 5th gear, when doing 30mph upwards. The car isn’t struggling, and still has power when I put my foot down. Just wondered if anyone else’s did the same on here? 🚗

Not at 30 mph. If I do that with my 1.2 8v 58 HP engine. I lose too much power and torque. (tried a couple of times) I use 5th gear most of the time around 50 mph. Because many roads in the Netherlands have speed limit around 50 mph (80 km/h). That’s perfect for 5th gear. For speeds close to 30 mph. I am using 3rd or 4th gear depending on the situation on the road.
My 1.2 8v happily cruises in 5th at 30mph :/
I also drive in 5th gear when doing 30mph. My 1.4 16v isn’t struggling either. When you’re just coasting it’s good enough and you get better mpg. (I also drive in the Netherlands)
I have a 1.2 16v 75 hp and it will happily cruise around in 5th at 30mph
