So after ecu tuning , my radiator fans are starting to work with contact and are constantly on, it sounds like a jet landing, what could be the cause of this problem? Temperature is just fine , stays on 90c and not going higher. Golf mk5 Gt sport 2009
What kind of ecu tuning you did? Was it some cheap universal chip or something like that
I did a remap and got +30hp, dont know if its universal, everything is fine except that fan, I havent heard it before, car was almost silent on idle but now sounds like boeing 747
Yes it is normal when engine is hot and fans are also part of air con
Ye but air con is off and temp is optimal doesnt go higher than 90c , think it could be ect sensor or something
Is your chip just a re flash
Just a re map
Yes it could be engine temp. sensor or some dirt or something like that between the fans that slows down rotation, ecu detect this and put full power on fans. This is just guessing
Yup I will check that, thanks mate
I have in my mk5 1.9TDI ecu tuning too and I don’t have any problems with fans :D I think that you should remap your engine, there might be a little error in your ecu :D check the errors with OBD too :D
My engine fan has two stages, first one didn’t work and fan was broken because blocked, so constantly running on second stage. Sounded exactly like you described. These fans tend to break, i would check the fan itself!
It wast just bad ecu map, got it fixed by buying original ecu tune
