Moose vs Volvo XC90 aftermath
So 3 days ago my dad hit a moose in his XC90 (and yes I was also in the car).
Was going about 70 km/h, then it jumped down from a small hill next to the road. My dad slammed the brakes and steered to the left so the moose luckily hit the side of the car so it didn’t come through the windshield.
The road was carved through a hill, so there was an about 2m high cliff face on either side of the road. Hope that was explained well enough.
Could have been worse. Moose survived but got a cut in its side.

That’s incredible. I think moose(s?) can weigh up to 600 pounds.
According to some research I just made the eurasian moose as an adult can weigh 440-1818 pounds (200-825 kg). It was a female adult so it weighs a bit less than the male.

Since it was only slight exterior damage and no one was hurt I would almost say it was a win for Volvo, but since the moose basically was unharmed and did all this sh*t it gets the win

Hope older Volvos will be somewhere around that safe in a similiar crash, as I will probably get into one again since there are so many goddamn deer and moose here in rural Finland

Didn’t want the mirror to drop on the road and shatter everywhere lol
Also the light still works, just the sh*t covering it got destroyed
all in all, the Volvo was (expectedly) better off.
