I thnk they remove the filter just for taking the photos, you don’t want to run a turbo without a filter, believe me
Tru but they do dyno runs without it on video too
By fitting ur car with an air filter it removes dirt from the air but can also act as a restriction on the intake by removing the filter you remove the restriction but also leave your engine open to major damage
without a filter a small stone can get sucked in and destroy ur engine so they normally get some mesh to go over it like this
and if it doesn’t have anything then they took it off for the photo
not just i the engine. just a little sand in the turbine and it could be game over for your turbo.
Drag cars usually. Less restriction. But dont do it on aroad car
