Colloquially "Rice" means "distastefully modified." It's actual DEFINITION is (Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement) i.e graphics, body kits, canards, interior strip out, etc. A Riced car is simply a race car for the street. (Or at least looks like one)

I have been trying to make this point forever. Remember the “undercooked” theory?

Exactly!! Tuners go the sleeper route, non-imposing cosmetic mods if any at all that wouldn’t hint that it is faster than stock, Rice is the other way around basically.

That Lamborghini is RICED! (Scissor doors get a pass because they are factory in this case lol)

If that’s your opinion great! but one is most definitely rice and the other is most definitely not.
I was careful not to do one of the “this is a (insert thing here) this is sh!t” memes, I love Honda’s so I didn’t wanna give off the idea I didn’t like either of them.

Rice should be changed to AWOL.
Automobile (cosmetically) worked over limit.

If the red ones not rice then how is the yellow one.

Did you read the title? Rice is an acronym meaning (Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement) or in other words, cosmetic features you would find on a race car. Things like Aero, interior deletes, graphics, etc. You wouldn’t find scissor doors and a non-aero body kit on a “traditional” race car therefore those things could not be race inspired cosmetic enhancements or Rice, they are just plain old cosmetic “enhancements”

This is one of those things that just isn’t up for debate, If you wouldn’t find it on a race car, it isn’t rice.

Do you even read

“IF” you say, okay, EK red is not a rice and the EG yellow is. BUT the EG yellow is a nice looker, red one makes me vomit…

Or at least the red one is a bad attempt at rice, but the scissor doors really put it more into the show car scene more than rice, you’d be hard pressed to find scissor doors on a race car so that’s not really strictly “race inspired”

Waiiiiit What? The red one has lower profile tires, fake carbon fiber hood, supposedly more aerodynamic bumper, it’s still rice

07/08/2016 - 14:39 |

Supposedly more aerodynamic? are you kidding?? The yellow civic has a proper splitter and canards, the red one is purely visual. The Yellow one is on Hoosier Radials, legit race tires. It also has race inspired graphics, interior delete, roll cage, big brake kit.

The red car has scissor doors, street wheels and tires, non aero (i.e NOT race inspired) bumper, (again yellow car has an actual splitter which is race inspired.) The red car’s spoiler is also not race inspired where the yellow cars is and again is actual aero.

One could argue the red car is an ATTEMPT at rice but the scissor door especially disqualify it as such

LPTater (Part-time Ricer)

I totally agree that this is the way it should be. Unfortunately, many people see any stanced car or stock honda with rims and immediatly associate it with rice. The true definition of rice is what you said, the internets definition is “anything they dont like”. Ive seen people post pictures of stock hondas, pontiacs, etc, calling them “factory rice”.

07/08/2016 - 15:03 |

Exactly! Well said “anything they don’t like” or any visual mods they see as “tacky”
