Hey guys, can I have some information regarding camshafts on a stock NA 1.6? - Mazda MX-5 (Mk1 / Mk2) Forum

Pictured above is my completely stock 1.6 NA Mx-5, circa 1989 which i’m looking to squeeze a little more power out of. Where I live, forced induction and engine swaps are out of the question, so i’m looking to find some simple and cost effective mods to do to my original engine. In multiple forums i’ve read that the exhaust camshaft from an MX3 1.6 can be used as an intake cam on the 1.6 MX-5, however I wasn’t able to find a tutorial, or any information on how exactly this can be done. I’ve also read of people using the FC RX7 (naturally aspirated) Airflow Meter to replace the stock one as it gives better airflow above 6k rpm. If anyone has any information regarding both mods, I would really appreciate it!
Cheers,
