Meanwhile, deals with Chinese distributor Pang Da and Youngman Automotive are pending regulatory approval.
General Motors is also doing its part by continuing production of the highly-important 9-4X crossover at its plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Production there began in February. Saab is looking to restart production soon at the Trollhattan plant in Sweden, which produces the 9-5 and 9-3.
A model enthusiasts have had a particular affinity for has been the 9-5 SportCombi. The 9-5 SportCombi has to rank among the most stylish wagons ever. The first preliminary details have been released for its sale in the United States.
Saab appears to be positioning the car at the top of the 9-5 range, which rules out an inexpensive-but-stylish family hauler. Given Saab's cash situation, it makes to focus on high-margin models. But will the sales be there for a high priced 9-5 SportCombi?
Standard features include a navigation system, heated seats, keyless entry, panoramic moonroof, lane departure warning system, parking assist, head up display and Bi-Xenon headlights that swivel around corners.
Rear seat passengers are treated to their own three-zone climate controls and audio, along with a DVD player hooked up to dual eight-inch screens. Wireless headphones are thrown in to boot. The 9-5 SportCombi most definitely isn't your traditional wagon! Maybe it will attract some buyers who dare to be different.
