Even With A Poor Start This Tesla Model S Annihilates An RS6, E63 S And M760LI

This heavyweight drag race pits the Model S P100D against the BMW M760LI, Audi RS6 Performance and Mercedes-AMG E63

The line-up of cars you see above all have two things in common: they’re very heavy, and very powerful. The Mercedes and the Audi both tip the scales at around two tonnes, the Tesla is 2100kg, and finally the BMW is over 2200kg.

So they’re all fatties, but the Tesla has far more power and torque than its internal combustion rivals. You’re looking at 778bhp compared to around 600 apiece for the other three, and a monstrous 920lb ft of torque following the most recent update.

As such, even though the driver of the P100D in these Car Wow drag races appeared to be asleep at the start of the first stint, the car had no trouble overhauling the RS6, M760LI and the E63 S.

Honourable mention must go to the big BMW, though - it’s a much larger and heavier car than the others here, yet managed to beat the RS6 in the standing and rolling start races. Is BMW being a little conservative with the power figure for that twin-turbo V12…?

I wouldnt call that an annihalation because the AMG finnished just 0,2 seconds later and all cars finnished within a half a second of a Tesla

All drag races end like that ? In Olympic sprints there is but a spilt second difference between the first and the last runner too

I must admit it has monstrous torque, but the top speed and handling is bad.

Looks like the Tesla driver spilled his coffee before the start, cleaned it up, started and then was like: “Oh hold on I got this !”

Because the Model S was totally designed to go fast, nevermind the fact they managed to get electricity into the luxury market

The tesla does have a chunk more power than the others, it’s not that much of a shock (pardon the pun)
